It was a productive day at IIT Madras, where our founder Mr. Ganesan Narayanasamy met with Prof. Kamakoti Veezhinathan, Director of IIT Madras, to explore collaborations on Microwatt and OpenPOWER technologies. The discussions focused on co-developing indigenous, secure, and customizable solutions, along with integrating these technologies into the academic curriculum. IBM veteran Dr. Peter Hofstee shared insights on OpenPOWER cores, which sparked strong interest from the IIT Madras team. Special thanks to Mr. Kotteeswaran Ekambaram for his active participation in our tech meet. The collaboration envisions the use of Microwatt and OpenPOWER cores for processor design, custom SoCs, and secure AI research, while also strengthening educational and research programs through open hardware and FPGA-based experimentation. This initiative marks a significant step toward building India’s self-reliant and innovation-driven tech ecosystem.
